Set it up

  1. 1Open Reminders and enable it.
  2. 2Use Create & manage reminders to schedule one: title, message, date/time, and an optional channel.
  3. 3Add a repeat (daily/weekly/monthly, or a custom "every N minutes/hours/days/weeks/months") to make it recurring, and attach roles or member IDs to ping.
  4. 4Or let members self-schedule from Discord with the /remind command.

Reminder types

  • Private reminder - QREATE DMs the member later.
  • Channel reminder - QREATE posts in the channel when here:true or the equivalent option is used.
  • Server announcement - use Announcements instead; Reminders are member-driven.

Troubleshooting

  • If a DM reminder does not arrive, the member may have DMs disabled.
  • If a channel reminder does not post, check Send Messages and View Channel permissions.

Buttons under a reminder

By default a reminder carries Snooze and Stop. You can replace them with your own set on the Reminders page: each button either snoozes the reminder for a number of minutes, finishes it, or opens a link. Up to five, and a link button needs an address starting with https.

That set is the server default. A single reminder can also carry its own buttons instead, chosen on the reminder itself under Buttons under this reminder. A bump reminder is the obvious case: one button that opens your listing so the bump takes one tap, and one that opens your review page, without those links turning up under every other reminder in the server.

A button can also carry a command. Type it the way you type it in Discord, like /bump, and pressing the button hands the member that command ready to send. Discord gives no bot a way to type into somebody else's message box, so the member always presses send themselves.

Discord can render a command as a real clickable shortcut, and QREATE upgrades your button to that on its own the moment it sees the command written out somewhere in your server (a rules post, another bot's message). From then on, pressing the button drops the command straight into the member's message box. Until then the button hands over text to copy, which is the honest limit rather than a fault. Nothing to set up, and no id to look up anywhere.

Every button needs a label, and a link button needs its address. If either is missing the save stops and says which one, rather than dropping the button.

A bump reminder shows the Title and Message you set on it. Leave the message empty and it falls back to a short built-in line for the platform you picked.

What to know

  • Pick a channel to post the reminder there (and ping roles/members); leave it empty to get the reminder as a DM.
  • Recurring reminders reschedule themselves; set a repeat until date to end the series, or leave it open-ended.
  • Manage any reminder inline: mark it Done, Cancel it, snooze +1h/+1d, or Delete. The same snooze/stop buttons appear on the reminder in Discord for the creator or a server manager.
  • The Discord buttons are yours to change under Reminder Buttons: keep the built-in set, or define up to five of your own with their own labels, colours, and actions (snooze by any number of minutes, or finish the reminder).
  • Times are shown in your chosen time zone. Use Announcements instead for scheduled server-wide broadcast messages.
  • Set the reminder type to Server bump to pre-fill the repeat interval for Disboard, top.gg, or discord.me. For Disboard, turn on auto-detect and the reminder resets itself the moment it sees Disboard's own bump confirmation in that channel, so an early bump never gets overwritten by a stale reminder.
